Trained initially as
flutist and then composer, Peter Bacchus grew up in a family of professional
commercial photographers coming in constant contact with the demanding
professional advertising world. He also has extensive experience in the
theater, first as an actor and later as a performing musician and composer.
In New York City, the anti-drug operetta he wrote and directed with marginal
public school children was produced throughout the city school system
with the corporate support of American Express. He served as music director
for the National Theater of Catalonia under the direction of famed actor
Josep Maria Flotats in the critically acclaimed production of "Cal
Dir-ho?", and was responsable for the arrangements, formation of
the orchestra and conducting the more than one hundred performances. The
reviews were unanimous: El Pais said: "Especially acknowledged were
the musical numbers.", El Periodico: "The work of the musicians,
directed by Peter John Bacchus, is to be commended.", and La Vanguardia
said the music "gave support to the best moments of the show".
Peter's broad range of professional experience and a solid base and training
give him the ideal qualifications for work in the commercial/television
and film areas. Peter's company, Bacchus Music Productions has acquired
a series of successes and accolades from both agencies and directors for
it's ability to work effectively with the other members of the creative
team and produce a sountrack which maximizes the message of the film.
His arrangements for the Danone Actimel campaign have been successful
world-wide and his list of clients has included production companies such
as Group Films in Barcelona, agencies such as Viniziuz, Young and Rubicam,
Tempo BBDO, and clients such as Time-Life and Danone.
